- Explore how robotics and bionics are revolutionizing prosthetics
- Examine 3D printed parts made from recycled materials
The Robotics & Electronics Makerspace Starter Package is designed to support students as they create a prosthetic device for the arm or hand. Students will gain an understanding of the principles of robotics & bionics and how they are revolutionizing the field of prosthetics. To gain a practical understanding of how to do this, students will build a prosthetic hand. They will learn about the anatomy and physiology of the human hand, and then explore coding and 3D printing using TinkerCAD Circuits and TinkerCAD or similar programs to design their own prosthetic devices. Through this course, students will gain a better understanding of how engineering and design can support human needs, and how they are helping people around the world.
