The Dragino MDS200-LB LoRaWAN Microwave Radar Distance Sensor (8500mAh Li/SOCl2 / US915) employs 24GHz microwave technology to accurately measure distances between the sensor and various objects. This method is particularly effective in environments with condensation or dust, where traditional ultrasonic or Lidar methods may falter. The sensor remains functional even when covered with water or thick dust, ensuring reliable performance in challenging conditions.
This sensor is versatile and can be utilized in numerous applications, including horizontal distance measurement, parking management systems, object proximity and presence detection, intelligent trash can management systems, robot obstacle avoidance, and automatic control systems. It is capable of measuring the distance to the nearest object and the subsequent object behind it, providing comprehensive data for various operational needs.
The MDS200-LB features an alarm function that triggers data uplink at shorter intervals when the measured distance deviates from a pre-configured range. Leveraging LoRa wireless technology, the device achieves ultra-long-range communication with high interference immunity while maintaining low power consumption. This ensures efficient data transmission over extended distances.
Configuration and updates are simplified through Bluetooth and wireless OTA capabilities, allowing for easy setup and maintenance. The sensor is powered by an 8500mAh Li-SOCI2 battery, designed for long-term use of up to five years. Each unit is pre-loaded with unique keys for seamless LoRaWAN registration and automatic connection upon activation.
