The Crazyflie 2.x DWM1000 Loco Positioning Node for Indoor Positioning System, Ultra-Wide-Band Radio Module is a versatile component designed for use in indoor positioning systems. It functions primarily as an Anchor within a Loco Positioning system, serving as a reference point for calculating the absolute position of objects. Alternatively, it can operate in Tag mode, allowing it to be attached to objects for tracking purposes, such as robots.

This module is built on the STM32F072 Cortex-M0 MCU, which facilitates rapid and precise data processing and control. It employs ultra-wideband communication technology, utilizing the DWM1000 UWB radio and adhering to the IEEE802.15.4a UWB PHY standard. This enables high-precision ranging, with distance measurements to Loco Positioning Node Anchors accurate within a 10 cm range.

The system supports multiple operational modes, including Anchor, Tag, and Sniffer modes, and can be upgraded and configured via USB. The Loco Positioning Node is integral to a system that measures distances between Nodes and Tags, using these measurements to calculate the position of objects carrying Tags. The system functions similarly to GPS, with Anchors acting as reference points and Tags as receivers.

The default operational mode, Two-way ranging, supports the positioning of a single Crazyflie. For positioning multiple Crazyflies, the system can be switched to TDoA mode, which functions like an indoor GPS system. This mode allows for the positioning of numerous drones by having them listen to positioning information from the Anchors. Optimal performance in TDoA mode is achieved within the space enclosed by the Anchors, and it is recommended to use eight Anchors for this purpose.

Note: This product is intended to be used together with the Loco Positioning Deck and cannot be used standalone.
